Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 5 Virginia Posts 5-2 Victory Over Syracuse

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The No. 5 Virginia women’s tennis team (14-2, 6-0 ACC) won 5-2 against Syracuse (9-6, 3-5 ACC) on Friday (March 22) at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va.

Virginia won the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. The Cavaliers then jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead as Melodie Collard won 6-1, 6-0 playing on court six followed by Sara Ziodato’s 6-0, 6-1 victory on court three.

Elaine Chervinsky clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory on court five, while Annabelle Xu added another point with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court two.

On the Horizon
The Cavaliers will be back at the Virginia Tennis Facility on Sunday (March 24) when they take on Boston College at 12 p.m.
