Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 4 Virginia Faces No. 6 UNC Friday, No. 20 Duke Sunday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 4 Virginia women’s tennis team (17-2, 9-0 ACC) plays a pair of ranked opponents in the state of North Carolina this weekend, taking on No. 6 North Carolina (15-3, 8-1 ACC) on Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill and No. 20 Duke (12-6, 5-4 ACC) on Sunday, April 7 at 12 p.m. in Durham.

CAVALIER NOTES

  • The Cavaliers moved up two places in this week’s ITA team rankings, moving back to No. 4, matching their highest ranking of the season
  • The Cavaliers picked up their third top-10 win of the season last weekend when they topped No. 10 NC State 5-2
  • Friday’s match will be UVA’s six match of the season against a top-10 opponent
  • UVA is in sole possession of first place in the ACC standings at 9-0. North Carolina is second at 8-1. This is the second-to-last week of conference play
  • The 9-0 is the best start for the team in conference play in program history
  • Junior Mélodie Collard is on a 10-match win streak in singles and is 15-1 in duals this spring
