Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 15 Virginia Plays at No. 16 Syracuse Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 15 Virginia women’s tennis team (7-3, 1-1 ACC) plays a pair of road matches this week, starting with a contest on Friday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at No. 16 Syracuse (9-0, 3-0 ACC). The Cavaliers close out the weekend by playing at Boston College (7-4, 0-3 ACC) on Sunday at 10 a.m.

MATCH INFORMATION

  • Live streaming and live scoring will be available for Friday’s match but not for Sunday

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • Virginia moved up five spots in the updated ITA computerized team rankings to No. 15 after last week’s 4-3 victory against No. 10 Duke
  • Singles and doubles rankings were not updated this week. New rankings will come out on Tuesday
  • Sara Ziodato won the clincher against the Blue Devils, winning 7-6 (5), 6-4 on court four against Ellie Coleman
  • Ziodato leads the Cavaliers with 16 singles victories this season
  • Natasha Subash is a perfect 5-0 at No. 2 with a 13-3 overall record
  • Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky are ranked No. 7 in doubles. They played together for the first time in dual matches this season against UNC and Duke, winning both matches to help the Cavaliers clinch the doubles point against both opponents
