Virginia Women’s Tennis | Four Cavaliers Competing at NCAA Individual Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Virginia women’s tennis team will have four players competing in the 2024 NCAA Women’s Tennis Individual  Championships May 20-25 at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.

Senior Hibah Shaikh and sophomore Annabelle Xu will compete in the singles draw while juniors Mélodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky will compete in doubles.

Shaikh opens play by taking on 9-16 seed Irina Canots Siemers of Ohio State on Monday (May 20) at 11:30 a.m. ET. Xu, who was an alternate when selections were first announced, faces 9-16 seed Sofia Cabezas of Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday.

Chervinsky and Collard, originally unseeded in the doubles tournament, are now a 5-8 seed and will open play on Tuesday (May 21) by facing Cabezas and Elza Tomase. That match time is TBA.

Shaikh fell 6-3, 6-3 against Ohio State’s Canots Siemers.
