CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Members of the Virginia women’s tennis team are competing as individuals in singles and doubles matches this weekend at the Tennessee Fall Invitational tournament being held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 28-30 in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Cavaliers will be competing against players from Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia Tech.
They will be in the 2 p.m. session on Friday and Saturday and the 9 a.m. session on Sunday.
Melodie Collard, Julia Adams, Hibah Shaikh and Meggie Navarro will be competing in the tournament.

Additionally, two Cavaliers competed at the ITF World Tennis Tour 60K in Toronto, Canada. Shaikh competed in qualifying, advancing to the qualifying final before falling. Freshman Annabelle Xu played in the main singles and doubles draws, falling in the first round of both.
FRIDAY
The Cavaliers opened play on Friday afternoon by facing members of the host school, Tennessee. Collard and Adams won their doubles match, 8-2, and also picked up singles wins.
SATURDAY
The Cavaliers won both doubles matches against Kentucky on the second day of action. Collard won 6-4, 7-6 (6) against Maialen Morante. Shaikh topped Lidia Gonzalez 6-1, 6-4.
SUNDAY
Georgia Tech took both doubles…
