Vikings may trade for Rams’ Matthew Stafford due to lack of confidence in ex-national championship Michigan QB

The Minnesota Vikings are one of several teams expected to have interest in Rams QB Matthew Stafford after Los Angeles’ front office reportedly “grew tired” of his wife revealing so much on podcasts and were forced to put him on the trade block.

Kelly Stafford got in hot water for revealing the franchise’s plan to trade Cooper Kupp.

“The Rams like Matt Stafford but they’re tiring of the constant quarterback talk, his wife saying things publicly,” FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd said on “The Herd.”

“They’re not real happy with Cooper Kupp going public with something they tried to keep quiet (looking to trade him).”

CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan believes the Vikings could be prepared to offer their No. 24 overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft for Stafford due to a lack of faith in former Michigan star JJ McCarthy.

“First off, this truly centers around the Vikings’ desire to retain Sam Darnold (who faltered down the stretch) and confidence in J.J. McCarthy.
