Belarusia’s Victoria Azarenka does not agree with Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka that there is tension in the locker room. In Indian Wells, Swiatek said “there is a lot of tension in the locker room” between Russian/Belarusian and Ukrainian players.
This week in Miami, Belarusian tennis star Sabalenka said that “I have never faced that much hate in the locker room.” “Personally, I have not seen that tension. Obviously, there are certain players that have different feelings and behaviours.
Overall, I don’t necessarily share the same opinion as Iga does. I would encourage her to look at the things that have been done before she makes comments,” Azarenka said, per Tennis365.

After Russia’s Anastasia Potapova wore a Russian football club shirt in Indian Wells, Swiatek called for the WTA to show better leadership and make it clear what’s right and what’s wrong.
“At the beginning we didn’t have proper leadership to guide us through all of that. There’s a lot of tension in the locker room that obviously is going to be there because there’s a war. But maybe it should be a little bit less if WTA put some action at the beginning to explain to everybody what’s right and what’s not,” Swiatek said in Indian Wells.
