Venus Williams says there is no point in dwelling too much about an unfortunate Wimbledon situation as she is moving ahead and focused on returning stronger. In the Wimbledon first round, Williams had an early 2-0 lead over Elina Svitolina.
Then, Williams slipped on the grass and started screaming in pain. Although Williams was able to finish the match, she was clearly impacted by the injury as Svitolina ended up winning 6-4 6-3. After the match, Williams said she felt great before “I got killed by the grass.”

“I’m not sure how I managed to smile in this moment but I don’t remember my face looking like this pleasant.
I felt just the opposite. I felt like everything slipped away from me so quickly and I was disappointed that I wasn’t stronger to pull out the match despite the circumstances. I’m happy I can look back at this moment and see I smiled.
