Venus Williams still perfectly remembers her “dramatic battle” against Martina Hingis in Warsaw nearly two decades ago. In 2006, Williams and Hingis met in the Warsaw second round. After winning the first set, Hingis also went up by an early break in the second round.
But Williams impressively recovered to beat Hingis 4-6 7-5 6-4. “I had full lower body cramps in this match! It was dramatic. We always had the craziest battles,” Williams tweeted.
