Venus Williams explains how she recovered baggage lost in Bahamas: “It was crazy”

Asked in Cincinnati whether she got her baggage back after they got lost and sent to the Bahamas by American Air before landing in Montreal last week, Venus Williams explained how she finally received them. “I finally did.

I called every hour. I get off the phone and then I call right back to speak with another agent. I’m relentless. I needed my bags. There was days of calling. The day I played my match was the craziest day in terms of preparation. There was running to buy clothes, and all over the place.

It was nuts. The package I got sent from Florida got stuck in customs. I thought I was going to have something. That didn’t come. It was a crazy day but I have my clothes now and I am grateful. It happens. I forgive and forget,” said Venus Williams during a press conference in Cincinnati.

Venus Williams lost the first round in Montreal

As Venus admitted, her preparations for Montreal were affected by the endless calls she had to make to American Air.
