Venus Williams has announced that she will be taking on retired Monica Puig in an exhibition match in Puerto Rico next month. Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, will be clashing against 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist Puig on September 15th at Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
Puig, 29, retired from pro tennis last year after being hampered by injuries in her last couple of years on the Tour. “Looking forward to my September 15th match vs @monicaace93,” Williams captioned her Instagram Story.

Puig, a former world No 27, won two WTA titles during her career but her biggest win came at the 2016 Rio Olympics when she won the gold medal for Puerto Rico.
