It was the first time the team had their World Cup journey end before the semifinals.
As they attempt to come back stronger, the next year will include typical international windows, the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup, and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The United States have already qualified for the Gold Cup and Olympic Games when they qualified for the World Cup and won the 2022 Concacaf W Championship.
