USWNT to face Republic of Ireland in set of summer friendlies, returning to Colorado

The U.S. women’s national team has booked the first two games of its summer international window, with back-to-back friendlies set against Republic of Ireland in June.

The first game June 26 will see the USWNT return to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. — a helpful boost for the new NWSL expansion team Denver ahead of its 2026 start. Then, June 29, the USWNT will head to TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.

The USWNT will play a still-to-be-determined opponent at a to-be-determined venue July 2 to close out the window.

“Ireland is one of the most difficult European teams to play against, so I’m happy we could get these games,” coach Emma Hayes said in U.S. Soccer’s news release. Hayes coached her first match in charge of the USWNT in Commerce City ahead of the 2024 Olympics.

“We need to play teams that will push us and create an environment where our players have to solve problems and play under pressure,” she said. “We’re still early in our process of building towards World Cup qualifying for ’27 and we still have a lot of growth to go as a team and as individuals, so these summer matches at these great soccer venues will once again provide a platform for the players to show their abilities to excel at a high level.”
