USWNT appoints Tottenham assistant Vicky Jepson as under-20 head coach

Tottenham Hotspur assistant Vicky Jepson will leave the Women’s Super League club at the end of the season to become head coach of the United States Under-20 women’s national team.

Jepson joined Spurs from Liverpool in 2021 as assistant to Rehanne Skinner. Following the sacking of Skinner in March 2023, Jepson took interim charge of Spurs for the remainder of the season, helping the club to survival in the WSL.

The 38-year-old returned to an assistant role upon the appointment of Robert Vilahamn as Spurs’ head coach in July 2023, and was a part of the coaching team which led the north London club to its maiden Women’s FA Cup final in 2024. Jepson earned her UEFA A License in June 2024.

“It’s hard leaving Tottenham Hotspur after four memorable years at the club, but I’m moving on to work for the most progressive organization in the world for women’s football,” Jepson said in a statement published Friday.

“Working alongside the incredible leadership of Tracey, (U.S. Soccer Sporting Director) Matt Crocker and of course a serial winner in Emma Hayes is an amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to get started.”
