A different type of women’s basketball will take center stage in Paris on Tuesday. Team USA’s 3×3 team brings together a plethora of talent from some of the NCAA’s best teams as one unit and some professional experience.
Team USA will begin its Olympic journey against Germany as part of a seven-game slate in pool play. Even though 3×3 hoops are not the most top-heavy in roster size, it’s a quicker brand of basketball that helps cater to different audiences.
The Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard is one of the biggest headliners leading Team USA. Howard earned her first experience on the big stage of the Olympics. Her 19.5 points per game has made her a household name, and she is currently in her third season in the WNBA.
Hailey Van Lith is the youngest player on the roster. She is attempting to win a Gold Medal and stay ready for the fall season with TCU, her third collegiate program.
To cap it off, Cierra Burdick and Derica Hamby anchor the team as the two primary veterans.
