The United States’ best gymnasts will look to secure their spots on the Olympic team as they compete at the USA Olympic gymnastics trials, beginning on Thursday, June 27.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will have five gymnasts each. The women’s squad will go for gold after a silver-medal finish in the Tokyo Olympics, while the men’s team will seek its first podium appearance since 2008.
All eyes will be on Simone Biles, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, as she looks to make her third Olympic team. Biles has the chance to become the first woman to win two Olympic all-around titles since Vera Caslavska pulled off the feat in 1964 and 1968. Tokyo Olympic medalists Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Suni Lee and six-time world medalist Shilese Jones will also look to book their tickets to Paris.
On the men’s side, 2023 NCAA all-around champion Frederick Richard, Tokyo Olympians Brody Malone and Yul Moldauer and 2023 U.S. all-around champion Asher Hong will compete in their respective events.
