USA advances to BJK Cup Finals, Davenport praises players who “really wanted to be here”

A composed performance from Hailey Baptiste and a gutsy comeback from Bernarda Pera propelled the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team into the 2025 Finals with a 2-1 victory over Slovakia on Sunday in Bratislava, securing the top spot in Qualifying Group C.

Making their Billie Jean King Cup debuts, Baptiste and Pera combined for a perfect 4-0 singles record, leading the U.S. to victories over Denmark and host Slovakia.

On Sunday, Baptiste gave Team USA a 1-0 lead in the decisive tie against Slovakia, followed by a thrilling comeback from Pera, who battled from 0-4 down in the second set to defeat world No. 37 Sramkova and clinch the team’s berth in the 2025 Finals.
