US President Joe Biden shares special congratulatory message to Coco Gauff

United States President Joe Biden congratulated Coco Gauff on winning the US Open and “making America proud.” On Saturday, 19-year-old Gauff lifted her first Grand Slam title after beating Aryna Sabalenka 2-6 6-3 6-2 in the US Open final.

For the first time since 2017, an American female tennis player won the US Open. “Congrats to U.S. Open Champion @CocoGauff. You electrified Arthur Ashe stadium and the entire nation – the first of more to come and proof that anything is possible if you never give up and always believe.

You’ve made America so proud,” President Biden wrote on X.

Gauff wins the US Open, gets a congratulatory message from President Biden

Gauff, who will be turning 20 in March, burst onto the scene in 2019 when she as a 15-year-old girl beat Venus Williams and made the Wimbledon round-of-16.
