Prize money at the 2024 US Open will be at an all-time high and the largest purse in tennis history with $75 million in total player compensation.
The USTA today announced that the 2024 US Open will offer a stunning 15% increase in prize money, which was a total of $65 million in 2023. Most importantly, all rounds in all events will see an increase from the previous season, both in the main draw and in the qualifying tournament, with an emphasis placed on early-round increases.
In the past five years, prize money for playing the first round of main draw singles has risen by 72 percent, from $58,000 in 2019 to reaching $100,000 for the first time, marking a 23 percent increase from 2023. Additionally, prize money for the final round of qualifying has surged by 63 percent, from $32,000 in 2019 to $52,000, reflecting a 16 percent increase from 2023.
The women’s and men’s singles champions at the 2024 US Open will receive $3.6 million each, up from $3 million in 2023, marking a 20 percent increase.
Total prize money for women’s and men’s doubles has increased by 9 percent from 2023, while total prize money for mixed doubles has seen an 18 percent rise.
