United Airlines has apologized to Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis after the former Denver Broncos star called for an investigation into a flight attendant’s behavior. He alleged in a series of Instagram posts that he was wrongfully handcuffed and removed from a Saturday flight. United Airlines released a statement stating they have removed the flight attendant that Davis claimed caused the issue from duty.
“This is clearly not the kind of travel experience we strive to provide, and we have reached out to Mr. Davis’s team to apologize,” United said in a statement via Pro Football Talk. “We have removed the flight attendant from duty while we closely review this matter.”
Davis, 51, said he was traveling with his wife and three children on a flight from Denver when his son “politely requested a cup of ice” during in-flight beverage service. Davis claims the flight attendant “either didn’t hear or ignored his request,” and that he “calmly reached … and lightly tapped [the flight attendant’s] arm to get his attention.”
