UFC 1 was held in 1993, which shows how quickly time flies. More 30 years later, UFC 300 is taking place Saturday in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and being celebrated with an offering that president Dana White is calling “the greatest card ever assembled in combat sports history.”

White has been adamant that every match in UFC 300 could be a headliner. Indeed, the matchups are impressive, with all 13 featuring a hook and a household name in the MMA world. 

UFC 300 will be headlined by a light heavyweight duel between newly crowned champion Alex “Poatan” Pereira, which translates to “Hands of Stone,” and top contender Jamahal Hill, who has only lost once in 14 fights. It will be Pereira’s first title defense since becoming the ninth fighter in UFC history to win a championship in separate weight classes.

A second championship is also in play as Zhang Weili puts her strawweight title on the line against Yan Xionan in the first meeting between China’s top female fighters. Weili is the first Chinese champion in UFC history.

Other UFC 300 highlights include the MMA debut of two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison, who will fight legendary former boxer Holly Holm, most famous in MMA circles for handing Ronda Rousey her first loss. Justin…
