With its 80-68 loss to No. 10 Texas on Sunday, No. 11 UConn reached three losses faster than it ever has in program history. The previous mark was Dec. 13, 1986, Geno Auriemma’s second season with the program. All three losses came to teams currently ranked in the AP top 10.
Texas’ win also marked the first time the Longhorns have ever beaten the Huskies, going 0-10 in the previous 10 meetings.
With leading scorer and leading rebounder Taylor Jones on the bench for much of the game due to foul trouble, point guard Rori Harmon anchored the Longhorns. The junior finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds (both game highs) and just one turnover. Freshman Madison Booker added 20 points and four assists while sophomore Amina Muhammad cleaned up the glass for the Longhorns, finishing with eight rebounds — including six offensive boards.
