University of Connecticut women’s basketball star Azzi Fudd is expected to miss three to six weeks with a right knee injury suffered in Sunday’s loss to Notre Dame, the team announced Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
- Fudd played 13 minutes (zero points, two assists) before exiting with the injury in the second quarter.
- Fudd previously tore her ACL and MCL in 2019 and missed time with a foot injury last season.

Backstory
The sophomore Fudd, 20, is averaging 20. 6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game this season on 53.3 percent shooting.
UConn fell to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll released Monday, while Notre Dame climbed to No. 5. The Huskies’ 2021-22 season ended with a loss to South Carolina in the NCAA championship game.
