Uchenna Kanu is ready to bring her ‘African energy’ to Racing Louisville FC – Equalizer Soccer

Uchenna Kanu may only be 25-years-old, but the spotlight is bright and on her as Racing Louisville’s new signing. The Nigerian international has only been with Racing Louisville for a couple days now, but has high expectations for her first season in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Kanu comes to the U.S. with plenty of success to her name, especially from her time in Mexico with Tigres. Kanu scored 20 goals in 30 regular-season matches, finding immediate success with the club and winning the 2022 Apertura title against Club América.

That success was noted by Racing Louisville, who expressed interest in signing the young African striker. Racing paid top-dollar, too. The Equalizer broke that Kanu’s transfer fee was $150,000, and included a $30,000 payout, too, if Kanu scores more than 12 goals in the 2023 season.

Kanu said, in an exclusive interview with The Equalizer, that there is certainly pressure on her to perform, but she’s ready to do her job.
