Marketa Vondrousova, silver medalist in Tokyo 2021, will not participate at the Olympic tournament. The Czech is not having one of her best moments and has explained the reason for her withdrawal.
“I am very sorry, but for health reasons I will not be participating in this year’s Olympic Games in Paris. I hoped until the last moment to be able to do at least the doubles, but my hand problems will not allow me to take the court. Now I am concentrating on being fit for the US Open, and I am crossing my fingers for all the Czech players in France,” she told.
