U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes has announced a 26-player roster for the upcoming October friendlies against Iceland and Argentina.
The roster features 18 players from the gold medal-winning squad at this summer’s Paris Olympic Games, along with three newcomers to the USWNT setup.
Trinity Rodman omitted from USWNT roster to continue her injury rehabilitation
Trinity Rodman is a notable omission from the USWNT squad, as she remains with the Washington Spirit to continue her rehabilitation following a back injury sustained in September.
Rodman made a brief return to NWSL action last weekend, appearing in the Spirit’s 4-1 victory over Racing Louisville.
Meanwhile, the other two members of the summer’s iconic ‘Triple Espresso‘ trio—Sophia Smith and Mallory Swanson—are fit and have been named in the squad for the matches against Iceland and Argentina.
