Ally Sentnor’s phone won’t stop buzzing. It is a monumental night for the former University of North Carolina forward, and the hardware must keep up.

Roughly one hour has passed since the 19-year-old was selected by the Utah Royals as the No.1 overall pick at the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League draft. Her life has changed forever. In turn, the world is blowing up her phone tonight. History made.

“It’s crazy,” Sentnor tells The Equalizer via the very same highly active phone. “It’s been absolutely surreal…absolutely unreal. It is surreal. I’m still wrapping my brain around it. I’m still in shock and awe.”
