The longtime Matildas veteran continues to make an impact for the Brisbane Roar in the A-League. Faced with the tough task of taking a free kick with the goal straight away, Gorry didn’t have many options.
Being right on the edge of the 18-yard box for a free kick makes it much harder to score because of less area to aim for. Gorry had to get enough power to get over and around the wall, but too much power and the ball would go flying over the crossbar.
She struck it perfectly as the ball curled around the keeper’s outstretched hand to complete a gorgeous free-kick goal.
