Tim Henman details why ‘fit and healthy’ Emma Raducanu could do great things

Tim Henman says he is “very positive and optimistic” that Emma Raducanu can do really well on the Tour if she gets to the point where she is feeling fit and healthy. After this year’s Australian Open, Raducanu spent the next two months sidelined as she was dealing with ankle and wrist issues.

In Indian Wells, Raducanu made her comeback and she reached the round-of-16 after beating Danka Kovinic, Magda Linette and Beatriz Haddad Maia. After beating Kovinic, Raducanu revealed that just 20 minutes before the match she was contemplating whether or not to play because she was dealing with wrist pain.

In the end, Raducanu ended up competing and clinching three wins before losing to world No 1 Iga Swiatek in the Indian Wells round-of-16. But approximately a month after Indian Wells – in May – Raducanu underwent multiple surgeries to address her ankle and wrist issues.
