Alex de Minaur ticked off yet another milestone in his illustrious career Monday, taking down American Alex Michelsen to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Australian Open for the very first time.
The current world no. 8 took down his opponent in straight sets to become just the sixth Australian male to make the AO quarter-finals in the Melbourne Park era, and the first since Nick Kyrgios in 2015.

Alex de Minaur is through to his first Australian Open quarter-finals, after an impressive four-match run which saw him drop just a single set, to Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo in the third round.
