The much-awaited results of a recent WNBA investigation have now been revealed. The WNBA previously announced that it would be launching an investigation into alleged racist fan remarks made by Indiana Fever fans during the Fever’s game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, May 17.
During the game, which was held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, two of the WNBA’s biggest rivals, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, faced off. The Fever ended up with a dominating win, with a final score of 93 to 58.
Following the game, allegations of inappropriate fan behavior targeting Reese were made.
Now, a little over a week later, the WNBA has concluded its investigation and found that these allegations were unsubstantiated.
A statement regarding this investigation was shared on the Fever’s Instagram page.
“In response to the WNBA’s recently concluded investigation, Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Mel Raines has issued the following statement: ‘We appreciate the swift and thorough process undertaken by the WNBA to investigate these allegations, which were not substantiated,” the statement begins.
