Texas’ Julien Alfred won the 2023 Bowerman as the most outstanding woman in track and field. Alfred is the second athlete in Longhorn history to win the Bowerman, following Courtney Okolo in 2016. Alfred won the 60 meter and 100 meter NCAA titles and swept the 200 meter NCAA titles. She also ran on the winning NCAA 4×100 meter relay team. She also set five NCAA records in 2023.

The first record break of the year
Julien Alfred entered the 2022-23 indoor season already owning the 60 meter record, but she showed that she wouldn’t miss a beat this year at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, NM. Alfred broke her own record running 7.02.
