The prize pool for 2025 WNBA All Star Weekend gets a *major* increase (and there’s going to be a customized lounge too)

Date:

Basketball fans, the prize pool for 2025 WNBA All Star Weekend is getting a *major* increase that raises the stakes for players, and things have suddenly been amped up a bit.

Announced Thursday, Aflac and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) have renewed their partnership for the second year in a row, which will see Aflac, a leading provider of supplemental health insurance in the U.S., increasing the increasing the prize pool for the 2025 WNBA All-Star’s 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge to a total of $115,000, providing greater financial recognition for top-performing athletes.

This strengthened partnership builds on a pivotal moment from last year’s WNBA All-Star event in Phoenix, and will now see an official partnership between the two companies, and a branded WNBPA All-Star Lounge experience where players will be presented their checks. With a prize pool last year that paled in comparison to the men’s events, the WNBPA turned to Aflac, which swiftly provided $110,000 in supplemental prize money—a boost that was especially meaningful for Allisha Gray, who became the first player to win both the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest in a single night.
