We just saw one of the most competitive National Women’s Soccer League playoffs ever, thanks to the serious parity and extraordinary talent among the league’s top four teams. While a mere point separated second from fourth, the gap between fourth and fifth was the largest in league history. One might think that there isn’t much for the league’s new elite to do in order to remain at the table’s zenith.
While it will be difficult for another club to crack the top four in 2025, we all know what added salary cap space and classic NWSL chaos can do to a team’s table position. That means the playoff semifinalists should press their advantage and shore up whatever holes may remain in their rosters.
