The mystery behind Emma Raducanu’s constant coach shuffle

Emma Raducanu is known for constantly changing her coaches. In the span of just two years, the Brit has worked with not one, not two, but five different coaches! Agent Max Eisenbud reveals the enigmatic reason behind this behavior of the 2021 US Open champion.

During a discussion on The Tennis Podcast, IMG senior vice-president Eisenbud spilled the beans about Raducanu’s coaching situation. It turns out that both Emma and her father Ian are very comfortable with the idea of short-term coaching relationships, and it looks like they will stick with this approach indefinitely.

“It’s probably going to be like that for the rest of her career. That’s what’s comfortable for them,” Eisenbud explained the situation that perplexes tennis fans.

“I’m not saying it is right or wrong, but that is the way they have done it, and I think it is fine to do things differently.”

Initially, Raducanu began her career under the guidance of Nigel Sears, who decided to step down shortly after her reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon 2021. Subsequently, Andrew Richardson took the reins and played a pivotal role in guiding her to the iconic victory at Flushing Meadows.
