Petra Kvitova’s first child could only have been born during the Wimbledon period. The two-time winner of the London Slam tournament made official through a post on social networks the birth of her first-born son Petr, on July 7, 2024.
The Czech tennis player, who married her coach Jiri Vanek last year in July, had posted a photo of the little one on Instagram.
The 34-year-old, who played her last WTA tournament in China in October 2023, temporarily interrupted her career precisely in light of the pregnancy, which was announced in January.
The player will have to wait a little longer before returning to the court to compete again. Considering the success and achievements that other mothers on the circuit are achieving, even after years of absence from competition, Kvitova may have some serious ambitions.
But in a recent interview with LP-life.cz, the Czech tennis player revealed the difficulties of giving birth and then dwelt on her future, on the priorities of having a family.
“I thought the birth would go better, but it was an ordeal and I ended up having an emergency c-section, so it wasn’t very nice. I still have a few extra pounds, but it’s slowly coming back down, so I hope it will soon be as it should be.
I’m not the youngest…
