The super regional round of the 2025 NCAA Division I softball tournament has arrived, and a slew of SEC teams have, once again, advanced to the penultimate round. Among those teams is No. 6 Texas, which will welcome No. 11 Clemson to Austin this weekend for a spot in the Women’s College World Series.
Texas (49-10) finished third in the SEC this season, winning 16 conference games. The Longhorns swept through their regional opponents, defeating Eastern Illinois, Michigan and UCF to reach their sixth straight super regional.
Clemson (47-12), however, is not going to be an easy walk in the park for the Longhorns. The 2025 ACC softball tournament champions also swept their regional, taking down USC Upstate, Northwestern and Kentucky. The Tigers have also won their last 10 games.
