Texas star Rori Harmon will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in her right knee, the school announced Friday.

Harmon, a junior guard on the undefeated No. 5 Longhorns, said in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, she suffered a non-contact injury during Wednesday’s practice. She did not play in Texas’ 45-point win over Jackson State on Wednesday, and her announcement comes on the eve of the Longhorns’ Big-12 opener on Saturday against No. 10 Baylor, who is also undefeated.
“We are heartbroken for Rori and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this difficult time,” coach Vic Schaefer said in a statement. “She has worked so hard to become in my opinion the best guard in the country, an All-American. It is difficult to see a young person go through this. It is truly devastating. My heart is crushed for her. But this I know about Rori, she will attack this like she does every practice, every game and she will be back to her old self in no time.”
Harmon is the engine for the Longhorns and has developed into perhaps the top point guard in the country. Earlier this season, Schaefer told The Athletic
