Tennis legend Chris Evert, former WTA No.1 and 18-time Slam singles champion, hopes that Danielle Collins can decide to postpone her retirement from tennis.
In a post published when Danielle defeated Elena Rybakina in the Miami Open final in straight sets, Evert asked Collins to rethink her decision.
“A big hug to Danielle Collins, congratulations on winning the Miami Open. She played spectacularly throughout the tournament… but… are you really sure you want to retire?” she wrote.

After winning the first WTA 1000 tournament of her career in Miami, Danielle Collins reiterated that at the end of the season she will say goodbye to the tennis she plays.
The American tennis player lives with some health problems. In 2021, Collins underwent surgery because she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a chronic benign inflammation of the female genital organs.
