Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch rode her momentum in Romania this week all the way to clinching the Transylvania Open trophy on Sunday. Korpatsch beat Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-3, 6-4 in eight minutes shy of two hours. Korpatsch won 19 of 33 points played on her first serve and won 18 of 36 points played on return on Ruse’s first serve.

The Hamburg native won 18 of 37 points played on her second serve. But she did do quite well to win 14 of 20 points on return on her opponent’s second serve. Korpatsch did only save four of eight break points she faced but she also converted half-a-dozen break points on Ruse’s serve.

For the match, the winner had 12 more points than the losing finalist’s 57.
