- NEW BLOOD: For the first time ever on the PPA Tour, neither Anna Leigh Waters nor Ben Johns will be in a Singles final, when one or both were in the tournament. Waters’ streak of Triple Crowns ends at six in a row, tied with Simone Jardim for the PPA Tour record.

GABRIEL JOSEPH, the #24 seed, clinched his second PPA Singles medal by upsetting four players with better seeds. He earned a silver in August of 2020, losing to Ben Johns at the PPA Showcase.
FEDERICO STAKSRUD, the #2 seed, sailed through the bottom of the bracket, losing only one game. This is his seventh Singles final this year, which ties Ben Johns for the most in 2023. Staksrud has earned two golds and four silvers this year.
BEN JOHNS losing in the round of 16 to Yates Johnson was a sign of things to come…there were nine upsets based on seeding in the men’s bracket.
