Elena Rybakina has learned her projected path to winning the Eastbourne title the week before Wimbledon. Rybakina, seeded at No 1, will meet a qualifier in her Eastbourne opener. After meeting a qualifier, Rybakina is projected to meet former world No 7 Madison Keys in the Eastbourne round-of-16.
In the Eastbourne quarterfinal, Rybakina is projected to meet No 8 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia – meeting 2021 French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova is also a possibility. In the Eastbourne semifinal, Rybakina is projected to meet No 3 seed Jessica Pegula – playing fifth-seeded Cori Gauff in the semifinal is also a strong possibility.
The Eastbourne final is projected to be between Rybakina and No 2 seed Caroline Garcia. In the bottom part of the draw where Garcia is, there are also No 4 seed Ons Jabeur and sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari.
Rybakina looking to bounce back after a surprise Berlin loss
This past week, Rybakina kicked off her grass season in Berlin.
In the German capital, Rybakina won her opener before Donna Vekic upset her 6-7 (1) 6-3 6-4 in the round-of-16. Rybakina was on a run of eight consecutive wins on the grass dating back to 2022 Wimbledon before Vekic beat her.
