The battle between Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek for the Year-End No 1 ranking has reached its final point as the Belarusian and the Pole have learned scenarios in which they can secure the year-end top spot. Sabalenka, who has been ranked at No 1 since the end of the US Open, arrived at the WTA Finals with 8,425 ranking points on the 2023 WTA Race list.
On the other side, Swiatek has collected 7,795 points so far this season. Since Sabalenka is up by 630 ranking points on Swiatek, the Belarusian is certainly in a better position to finish as the Year-End No 1. However, there are multiple scenarios in which Swiatek could end up surpassing Sabalenka after the WTA Finals.
