Yealimi Noh

Yealimi Noh is a professional golfer from the United States. Yealimi turned pro in 2019, and since then, she has been making waves in the golfing world with her talent and fashion sense. Yealimi’s Partnership with Malbon Golf

Yealimi Noh

Yealimi Noh is not only a talented golfer, but she’s also becoming a fashion icon on the golf course. For the LPGA tour, Yealimi Noh has partnered with none other than Malbon Golf. Known for creating stylish lifestyle and street style golf apparel, it’s only fitting they partner with a fashionista like Yealimi. Pictured above, Yealimi is seen wearing the Malbon x Nike Dri-FIT Skirt. Because regular golfing shoes are far too boring for Yealimi, she’s wearing the stylish Nike Air Max 90 G NRG shoes in a stunning purple colourway.

The best female golfers in the world play on different tours, but they have a common denominator: the Women’s Rolex World Golf Rankings, also known simply as the Rolex Rankings.

The Rolex Rankings were approved in 2004 by the top five tours at the first World Congress of Women’s Golf, held in May of that year. Finally, after various agreements, the ranking was published in February 2006.

Following the same practices of the Men’s Golf World Ranking, the Rolex Rankings orders the tournaments played by each player in the last two years chronologically, awarding points to each of them in each contest and contemplating the total value of the last thirteen weeks. Then, a gradual reduction is applied from week 13 and up to the rest of the weeks, up to two years.

The Rolex Rankings consider all the tournaments of ten world circuits: LPGA, EPSON, LET, LETAS, CLPGA, JLPGA, JSU, KLPGA, KDT, TLPGA, and WPGAA.

How are points assigned in the Rolex Rankings?

Players receive points based on their performance in each tournament, except for the major LPGA tournaments, where they receive a fixed point. For the rest of the events, a difficulty determined by the tournament’s importance is applied, and a scale of points is added depending on the participants. It is worth adding that the CLPGA, EPSON, and TLPGA have one main event per year that receives a similar score to any regular LPGA tournament.

Obviously, many additional factors must be taken into account to know when the players score points and when they don’t. For example, major events always add points when the qualifying cut is passed. But that’s different in a lot of regular tournaments.

One of the most important things is to understand the primary purpose of the scale: its ranking is the main eligibility criteria taken into account to access the Chevron Championship, HSBC Women’s World Championship, AIG Women’s Open, US Women’s Open, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and Amundi Evian Championship.

Thus, the ranking announced a return to normality of the historical calculation of the classification, beginning with the tournaments played the week of March 1, 2021. In recent years, the Women’s Rolex World Golf Rankings technical committee has monitored the playing frequency of the best 400 players in the world and the calendar of the leading professional circuits.

Women's golf apparel

Greetings, fellow fashion enthusiasts! I’m here to talk about the upcoming LPGA Tour in Thailand and the golf apparel you can expect to see at the event. As we all know, golf is a sport that requires both skill and style, and the LPGA is no exception. So, let’s get started with some outfit recommendations!

First and foremost, it’s important to remember the dress code of the LPGA. According to the LPGA Player Guide, women are required to wear “professional attire” on the course. This means no denim, no short shorts, and no t-shirts. Instead, opt for collared shirts or blouses, slacks, or knee-length skirts. As for shoes, closed-toe golf shoes are a must. Lately, however, the LPGA has tightened the rules in an effort to preserve modesty and reduce distractions. Players are not allowed to wear plunging necklines, leggings, or mini skirts.

Outfit Ideas

Lydia Ko, women's golf apparel

Now, let’s talk about some outfit ideas for the LPGA Tour in Thailand. Since the weather is typically warm in Thailand, it’s important to wear breathable fabrics. For a classic and timeless look, you can never go wrong with a classic polo style shirt paired with chino pants. This outfit is both chic and comfortable, perfect for a day on the course.

Minjee Lee, women's Golf apparel

Another great option is a colourful long-sleeve shirt paired with a thigh-length skirt. This outfit is both stylish and feminine, and will definitely turn heads on the course. Just make sure to choose a skirt that’s not too tight or too short, as you’ll need to be able to move around comfortably.

Accessories

Nike Visor, women's Golf Apparel

Visors are a popular choice for golfers, as they keep the sun out of your eyes while still allowing for maximum ventilation. They also protect your face from the sun’s harmful rays, making them a practical and stylish choice. This Nike Dri-FIT AeroBill Visor is a perfect option to complement any outfit.

Callaway golf gloves, women's Golf Apparel

Gloves are another accessory that can help improve your game. They provide a better grip on the club, prevent blisters, and protect your hands from the sun. Golf gloves come in a variety of materials, from leather to synthetic, and can be worn on one or both hands depending on your preference. The Callaway Tour Authentic Gloves are a best seller and fan favourite for good reason.

Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour, women's Golf Apparel, golf shoes

Finally, shoes are an important accessory that can make or break your game. Golf shoes provide traction and stability on the course, which is essential for making good swings. Look for shoes that are comfortable and provide ample support for your feet, as you’ll be walking and standing for long periods of time. The Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Gold Shoe is a solid choice for those looking to improve their swing in style.

In conclusion, the LPGA Tour in Thailand is the perfect opportunity to showcase your style and golf skills. Remember to stick to the dress code and choose golf apparel that is both comfortable and professional. With these outfit recommendations, you’re sure to look and feel your best on the course. Happy golfing!

Lorena Ochoa is a Mexican golfer with solid convictions. She has shown great temper during her golfing career and still has them.

A few weeks ago, she presented Xuntas, an organization promoting women’s golf. This is a relaunch of what was IGPM (Impulsando el Golf Profesional en México). This organization supports golf among women, helping players to gain quick access to professional golf just after they finish college.

Ochoa commented that Xuntas would focus on developing young girls to later encourage and guide them in a better way throughout their careers. Especially by helping them make the right decisions based on their personal objectives and goals.

At 41 years old, Lorena Ochoa continues to maintain a central position in the world of golf, even though she stopped competing 13 years ago. She clinched 27 victories on the LPGA Tour during her fantastic career, where she became world number one.

“From Xuntas, we are going to focus on new generations, with projects for 16 or 17-year-old girls to see their development in international tournaments and their needs. Also, to support those studying in universities to see if they want to dedicate themselves full-time to professionalism, taking the necessary steps and helping them mentally and developing strategies so that they only focus on their game”, Ochoa explained.

LPGA Tour salaries

Xuntas’ presentation allowed Ochoa to resurface a topic always present in professional golf. For some time, LPGA players have continued to highlight the enormous pay gap between their tour and the PGA Tour. For this reason, they do not give up an inch in their quest and continue to demand better prizes in each tournament.

“I have had the same position since I started playing, it is not fair, and we continue in the fight to get closer to them and equal opportunities. I got a bigger difference, and I congratulate the LPGA, which has done a great job increasing purses and improving the calendar. Golf is global, they are on the right track, but there is room for improvement,” Ochoa recently explained.

The Mexican recognized that the gap was more significant when she was an active competitor from 2003 to 2010. Since then, the prize pools have barely improved, but not by the amounts expected.

Bad news puts on alert the LPGA Tour competitions in Asia. The Blue Bay LPGA golf tournament was canceled for the third time in four years. The long-awaited event was to be held at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club, located in Hainan and considered one of China’s top 100 golf courses.

The organizers argued “matters related to the covid-19”. In addition, the LPGA indicated that the event was suspended following the instructions of the China Golf Association, the highest authority for this sport in the Asian country.

Last December, China lifted virtually all of its Covid-related restrictions. It is worth remembering that the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing were held securely in February 2022.

The annual calendar of the LPGA Tour has scheduled a competition in China for October, the Buick LPGA Shanghai, at the prestigious Qizhong Garden Golf Club. Can it be played?

It is worth noting that the LPGA Tour has an annual calendar with competitions in the United States, Thailand, Singapore, France, Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Canada, Spain, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.

The season is on

The 2023 season of the world’s most influential women’s golf circuit started a couple of weeks ago. In Orlando, The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions hosted the last season’s champions. With a flawless game, the Canadian Brooke Henderson succeeded after completing 272 strokes (-16) and leading by four.

This was Henderson’s 13th victory on the LPGA Tour, and she walked away with a check for $225,000, reserved for the winner. The Swedish Maja Stark and the English Charley Hull shared second place with 276 (-12).

“It’s been an incredible week and a great way to start the year,” said Henderson, who had not won since her victory at the Evian Championship last July. “I always try to win a couple of times a year, so getting a win early takes a bit of pressure off me for what’s next,” the Canadian admitted.

The next stop will be the Honda LPGA Thailand, which will be played on the Old Course of the Siam Country Club.
