The FBI released a 475-page document relating to O.J. Simpson on Friday. The pages largely focus on the murder investigation of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. After a sensational criminal trial that mesmerized America for eight months, Simpson was acquitted of all charges.

Much of the 475 pages is dedicated to the FBI’s investigation into the Bruno Magli shoes that were determined to have been worn by the killer. The FBI traveled to Italy to investigate the shoes and found that only 296 pairs of size 12 shoes that matched the impressions found at the crime scene were distributed. Investigators were instructed to contact all 40 U.S. retailers of the shoes, first to seek any general information regarding their tracking of sales and later to specifically inquire about any recollections of O.J. Simpson as a customer or having sold shoes to a celebrity or a family member.

The remaining pages largely consist of memos and reports detailing evidence, including hair, blood and clothing samples, and references to photographs (the photos are not included in the documents).

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Two of the San Francisco 49ers’ most important players didn’t have long to wallow in sorrow after the team’s devastating loss in Super Bowl LVIII.

Star linebacker Fred Warner’s wife, Sydney, gave birth to the couple’s first child — Beau Anthony Warner — on March 7.

“I had to get over that loss really quick,” Warner said on Monday, “because I had something really important coming up.”

Quarterback Brock Purdy, meanwhile, got married to his fiancée, Jenna Brandt, on March 9. The wedding came just a day before the one-year anniversary, March 10, of the elbow surgery he underwent after tearing his UCL to close 2023.

“So for me, it’s been a different kind of offseason,” Purdy said on Monday with a smile.

It’s a time of new beginnings for the 49ers, both off and on the field. They say they’ve washed away the bitter taste of defeat that hit their palates like a rotten grapefruit on Feb. 11.

For Purdy, the big switch has come in preparation. At this point last year, he was just over a month removed from that elbow surgery, rehabbing diligently with the objective of returning by the 49ers’ September season opener….

San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk arrived at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday in style, sporting a custom Super Bowl jacket designed by his wife Kristin.

Juszczyk’s letterman jacket featured the names and numbers of several of his teammates, including quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The red jacket also had black leather sleeves and the logos of the NFL and Super Bowl LVIII.

All of the players whose numbers appeared on the jacket signed it after Juszczyk got to the locker room.

Juszczyk’s jacket is the latest high-profile garment to be worn from his wife’s designs after Taylor Swift sported a Travis Kelce-themed puffer coat made by Kristin at the Kansas City Chiefs’ wild-card game against the Miami Dolphins.

Kristin began designing game-day attire when she and Kyle first started dating 10 years ago. She began cutting up Kyle’s No. 44 jerseys and fashioning them into something more stylish. Her designs range from corset tops to miniskirts to coats, blending the red zone and the red carpet.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The San Francisco 49ers had a bye during the opening round of the playoffs, but that didn’t mean Kyle Juszczyk had the weekend off.

The team’s fullback went into action after his wife, Kristin, managed to meld three massive newsmakers — Taylor Swift, the NFL and the winter storms that were walloping the nation — when Swift confidently strode into Kansas City’s frozen Arrowhead Stadium wearing a jacket Kristin had made.

Swift and her legion of followers wield tremendous influence and can make social media sites convulse. And her long, red puffer — adorned with the No. 87 of her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — did just that.

For the Juszczyks, it was the equivalent of a five-touchdown day. They’d learned the singer-songwriter planned to wear the jacket but they weren’t sure. Kyle said they were watching on television from their San Jose home on Saturday afternoon when cameras caught Swift, protected by the jacket and a white beanie, getting out of a golf cart before the Chiefs’ wild-card playoff game against the Miami Dolphins got underway.

NFL team owners collect millions in revenue. They wield outsized power over their organizations and in their communities. They point to the bottom line, wins and losses, when firing coaches and executives, sometimes without giving them much time. But their own won-lost records appear nowhere.

Even people who follow the NFL closely might not know whether Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross owns a better record than New York Giants owner John Mara (he does).

They might not know whether female owners account for two of the five highest winning percentages since taking over their teams (they do).

They might not know that the only team without a traditional owner could lose 200 games overnight without dipping below .500 (the Green Bay Packers could).

They might not know that five of the last six owners to buy (rather than inherit) a team make up the bottom five in win percentage (they do — the lone exception is the Buffalo Bills’ Terry Pegula).

Cheryl Bosa was outside a restaurant Saturday in Newport Beach, Calif., sipping on sparkling rosé on a perfect 82-degree day, sitting beside her sons’ girlfriends.

“We are celebrating!” Cheryl roared over the phone.

The women were toasting Cheryl’s youngest son Nick’s new contract, which makes him the highest-paid NFL player who doesn’t throw touchdown passes.

BURLINGAME, Calif. — Encircled by 30 or so teenage girls in the end zone of a high school practice field, Pam Baker provides the game plan for the day, breaks down the huddle and sends her charges to position-specific training stations.

Former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski, who won a combined four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, owes more than $15 million in back taxes and penalties, the United States alleged in district court in California this week.

In its 18-page complaint, the Department of Justice said Romanowski and his wife, Julie Romanowski, have not paid prior tax deficiencies dating back to the 1998 tax year, which they were originally ordered by two tax courts to pay in 2013.

The unpaid taxes, statutory penalties and interest owed over eight years from 1998 to 2007 now total $15.33 million, the lawsuit brought by the U.S. alleges.

“Despite timely notice and demand for payment, the Romanowskis have neglected, refused or failed to pay the assessments against them,” the complaint says.

The complaint also alleges that the Romanowskis used funds from their nutrition business, N53, to pay personal living expenses. The document alleges the couple used corporate funds to pay for rent; appointments at nail, hair and spa salons; plastic surgery and chiropractic appointments; pet food; and groceries.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Like everything in his life, George Kittle’s trip back to Iowa City was nothing short of a whirlwind.

He and his wife, Claire, attended a wedding Saturday night. On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers tight end visited patients at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and returned to the football facility where he met with coach Kirk Ferentz. On Saturday afternoon, Kittle headlined a youth football camp at Kinnick Stadium for about 500 children, and Sunday, he sat for five hours at his favored Neon Dragon Tattoo shop in northeast Cedar Rapids, adding two more tattoos to his forearms. By Sunday night, he was on an airplane bound for San Francisco and organized team activities.
