The Cavaliers, who advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2022 are 18-6 and ranked No. 11 as they head into this year’s NCAA tournament. The tournament field will be announced Monday during an online selection show on NCAA.com, starting at 6 p.m.

Due to the pandemic, the NCAA tournament wasn’t held in 2020, but “the last two years have been amazing experiences,” Subhash said.

She’s learned that a team’s health is a critical factor in May. “I think at this point in the season most teams have a lot of players that are kind of banged up,” Subhash said. “Tennis is a really strenuous sport, and injuries, at least small ones, are very common. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia women’s tennis senior Natasha Subhash (Fairfax, Va.) has been named the ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (April 4) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Subhash helped UVA win two crucial doubles points in the 4-3 victories against No. 20 Georgia Tech and No 30 Clemson. She also won the clinching singles match in both victories. Subhash’s straight-set win against No. 7 Carol Lee on Friday was her highest-ranked victory of the year and the fourth top-10 victory of her collegiate career and powered the Cavaliers over the Yellow Jackets. On Sunday, she clinched the Clemson victory with a straight-set win on the top court.

Subhash shares the weekly honor with Miami’s Alexa Noel.

This is Subhash’s first time being named the ACC Player of the Week since earning the honor in March of her freshman season (3/3/20).
