Juventus have completed the signing of Alisha Lehmann from Aston Villa.

Lehmann’s arrival at Juventus comes a week after the Italian club announced the purchase of her partner, Douglas Luiz, from Villa. Luiz signed a five-year deal with Juventus, with Lehmann agreeing to a three-year contract.

“An emotional goodbye, I wanna say thank you to my teammates, staff and of course the amazing fans,” Lehmann posted in a farewell to Villa on social media. “I spend the best three years so far of my career at this amazing club, every single minute I enjoyed.

“Thank you for everything Aston Villa. You will always have a special place in my heart, and of course a part of me will be there forever. Thank you.”

Lehmann leaves Villa after making 74 appearances in three seasons with the Women’s Super League club. The 25-year-old forward scored 14 goals in that time and helped Villa to ninth-, fifth- and seventh-place finishes in the WSL.

Lehmann is a Switzerland international and has represented her country on 53 occasions since making her debut in 2017.

Juventus finished second in last season’s Serie A Femminile, 11 points behind league winners Roma.

Lyon are set to hire former Arsenal and Juventus manager Joe Montemurro as their new head coach.

The deal is expected to be signed today (Wednesday) and is just waiting on the paperwork between Montemurro, Lyon and Juventus — who Montemurro left by mutual consent in March but is still under contract with — to be finalised.

The Ligue 1 side have been searching for a new coach since Sonia Bompastor departed for Chelsea to replace Emma Hayes last month.

Vincent Ponsot, Lyon Women CEO, and owner Michele Kang led the search for Bompastor’s replacement. Lyon spoke to several coaches, with Scotland boss Pedro Martinez Losa among the candidates, and Kang also reached out to managers from men’s teams.

Montemurro, 54, joined Juventus ahead of the 2021-22 season. Juventus won the league in Montemurro’s first season in charge, finishing as runners-up in the last two campaigns.

Lyon faced Montemurro’s Juventus during last season’s Champions League. Juventus won the first leg of their quarter-final 2-1 in Turin but lost the reverse fixture 3-1.

Lyon won the Premiere Ligue last season under Bompastor, their third title in a row. They also reached the Champions League final but lost 2-0 to Barcelona.

Montemurro spent almost four years as Arsenal boss between 2017 and 2021, recording…

Weah, 24, was born in Brooklyn and grew up about an hour away in Rosedale, a neighborhood in the southeastern corner of Queens. As of 2022, his family still had a home in Springfield Gardens, about 40 minutes from where Brooklyn FC will play its home games next season at Maimonides Park in Coney Island.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Brooklyn Football Club’s ownership team and strengthen our connection to the people of New York, the borough I was born in, and the city I love,” Weah said in a statement. “BKFC is a grassroots-oriented club, focused on providing not only top-level professional football but new pathways and opportunities for women and men off the pitch as well.”
