CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Four members of the Virginia women’s tennis team were recognized by the Atlantic Coast Conference by being named to the 2023 All-ACC women’s tennis teams.

Senior Natasha Subhash was named the All-ACC Second Team in singles. Grad student Julia Adams and sophomore Mélodie Collard were named to the doubles second team while Elaine Chervinsky and Subhash earned third-team doubles honors.

This is the first time that the conference has named All-Conference doubles teams.

Subhash went 20-10 in singles, including an 8-2 record at No. 2, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship. This is her third time earning conference honors after being named to the first team as a sophomore and to the second team last season. All-ACC teams were not announced during her freshman season.

Adams and Collard earned All-America honors in doubles this season after advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship. They finished the year with a 24-6 record and are ranked No. 6 in the final ITA Doubles rankings of the season.

Chervinsky and Subhash were ranked as high as No. 3 in the ITA Doubles rankings this season after advancing to the semifinals at both the ITA All-American and ITA Fall National Championships. They tallied a…

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced today (June 6) the recipients of the 2023 Division I Women’s Regional Awards. Every year the ITA recognizes coaches and players for their excellence on the court and in their communities throughout the season.

Julia Adams was voted the ITA Atlantic Region Senior Player of the Year while Natasha Subhash was named the region’s Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award winner.

Adams opened the year by winning the ITA Atlantic Regional Singles Championship in the fall. She has earned invitations to compete in both the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships for the second straight spring, advancing to the semifinals of the doubles championship to earn All-America honors and a No. 6 national ranking. She finished her career with a combined record of 88-42 in singles and 103-26 in doubles between her four seasons at Furman this year at UVA.

She is the fourth Cavalier to earn this honor joining Emily Fraser (2012), Danielle Collins (2016) and Meghan Kelley (2019).

Subhash, a two-time Academic All-American and three-time ITA All-American, reached 20 wins in singles for the third time in her career and earned her third straight invitation to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship as well as…

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The University of Virginia men’s tennis team will play in the NCAA tournament’s Sweet Sixteen at the Boar’s Head Resort on Saturday afternoon. At the same time, the UVA women’s team will play in the same round of its NCAA tournament, some 560 miles away in Ann Arbor, Mich.

A year ago, both teams advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals, and the Virginia men went on to capture the title for the fifth time. This marks the third straight season that both UVA teams have reached the third round of their respective NCAA tournaments. The two programs are close, and it’s “been a total team effort,” Pedroso said. “I was dead on when it came to Sara’s character when we…
