The Grambling State women’s basketball team achieved a record-setting feat Tuesday, beating the College of Biblical Studies 159-18. The 141-point difference marked the largest margin of victory in Division I women’s basketball history, per ESPN.

Savannah State set the previous record in 2018 when it beat Wesleyan (Georgia) 155-26, a 129-point margin of victory.

Grambling held its opponent scoreless for most of the first quarter. The Ambassadors’ Alyssa Lowe put her team on the board with a jumper with 2:14 to go in the first. Grambling led 46-4 at the end of the first quarter and 82-10 at the half.

Eight Grambling players scored in double-digit figures in the win, with Arianna Mosley posting a game-high 27 points. Kahia Warmsley scored 20 points, while Amanda Blake and DeMya Young each dropped 15 points. Warmsley also contributed 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Jordaynia Ivie’s seven steals paced the Tigers.

With the win, Grambling improved to 6-5 on the season. It has yet to play a game in its conference, the SWAC.
