Generation Z, this one’s for you. It’s no secret that Gen Z has managed to become one of the most influential generations. With the rise of TikTok, Gen Z has revived all the fashion trends millennials hoped to never see again. To name a few, Gen Z has brought back baggy jeans, low-rise, Y2K, UGGs, and even the claw clip. Despite the fact that most of these trends are modern-day revivals, Adidas is looking to capitalize on Gen Z’s early adoption of fashion trends by releasing a new label called Sportswear.

Sportswear: Adidas First New Label in 5 Decades

Sportswear is the newest line from Adidas. The new line, dubbed ‘The Gen Z Line’, is aimed at Generation Z consumers. Generation Z, also known as the post-Millennial generation, has proven to have vastly different consumption patterns from that of previous generations. Gen Z consumers look for sportswear that aligns with their personal style, values, and lifestyle. Designed specifically to appeal to the younger audience, the Adidas Sportswear line was inspired by the ever-changing needs and preferences of the Gen Z market. The Gen Z market is interested in sustainable and eco-friendly products, while also seeking sportswear that incorporates the latest fashion trends. The Sportswear line is designed to be both functional and comfortable.

Jenna Ortega or as many of you may know her, Wednesday Addams. Starring in the hit Netflix series Wednesday, Jenna Ortega has now become more influential than ever. Released in mid-November, the Wednesday series continues to break records with its success. Jenna Ortega’s influence reaches beyond TikTok dances, inspiring both fashion and makeup trends.

It comes as no surprise that Adidas has chosen Jenna Ortega as their newest ambassador. After dropping Ye last year, Adidas has chosen to pivot its focus by selecting an ambassador that appeals to the Gen Z market. The partnership aims to bring together the expertise of Adidas in sportswear and Jenna Ortega’s insight into the interests and preferences of the Gen Z market to create a unique and appealing collection.

The Collection

Sportswear will drop worldwide on February 9th, 2023 on the Adidas website. Though the new line includes many pieces, the most anticipated pieces include the Tiro Suit and the Avryn shoes. The Tiro suit takes inspiration from the classic Adidas tracksuit design. Balancing style with sports, Adidas has dubbed the Tiro suit as the You-niform. You can browse the entire collection here.
